Up and Away: NJROTC Cadets Fly with Rick Mantei
In a collaboration that brought dreams closer to reality, Rick Mantei joined forces with Spring Valley High School’s NJROTC program to provide an unforgettable experience for the school’s Cadets of the Month.
Yesterday, Mantei piloted his vintage Stearman aircraft, offering thrilling flights to four exceptional cadets:
- Lillian Andrews, a senior diligently working towards her pilot license
- William Peterson, a junior with strong intentions of becoming a pilot
- Dominic Green, a sophomore with a passionate interest in aviation
- Dayton Stewart, who is eager to delve deeper into the world of flying
Spring Valley’s NJROTC program is dedicated to instilling vital life skills such as leadership, organization, discipline, confidence, and communication in its cadets. These skills are developed through peer teaching, interaction, and hands-on learning experiences.
Rick Mantei, celebrated for his dedication to leadership, citizenship, and personal responsibility, continues to inspire the community by creating such memorable opportunities. Through these flights, Mantei not only shared his love for aviation but also fostered the ambitions of the next generation of pilots.
