On a beautiful morning in Maui, Rick Mantei proudly supported his daughter, Sara, as she ran the Valley to the Sea 5K—a race known for its breathtaking ocean views, island energy, and unforgettable finish at one of Maui’s most scenic beaches.

While Sara took on the course, Rick followed along in a car, cheering her on every step of the way. From the starting line in the lush Iao Valley to the finish by the sea, he encouraged her with the same dedication and enthusiasm he brings to everything he does—whether it’s flying cadets, supporting veterans, or backing his family.

The event, hosted by the Hawaii Elite Track Team and Runners Paradise, is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of perseverance, community, and natural beauty—values that reflect much of what Rick stands for. Sharing this experience with his daughter made it all the more meaningful.

It was a proud dad moment—and one more memory made through family, encouragement, and a little island adventure.
